Founded with the intention of providing an authentically lived-in experience to those curious travelers craving a more meaningful journey, haunt takes its name from the famous essay "Street Haunting" by Virginia Woolf wherein the novelist recounts the splendor of stepping outside her home and into the bustling city of London, seeing her city with a fresh set of eyes. haunt values those simple things that make life so beautiful: Good food, captivating stories, and romantic aesthetics.

What does haunt offer?
haunt provides discerning travelers with well-researched gems through the sales of curated Artist Guides written by locals and people who have spent significant time in cities around the world. Each guide is written in the voice of the "artist" and is an intimate portrayal of that artist's history and relationship with their chosen city.
Detailing precious memories and finds from their favorite casual dining spots to museums in which they've spent countless hours perusing to dimly lit bars where they met a foreign flame, the Artist Guides are a personal reflection of their city and their artist alike.

How do I write a guide?
Above all else haunt celebrates authenticity. When writing your guide, include as many personal anecdotes and quips as you're comfortable with. We will provide you with a sample guide with helpful tips from which you can reference for inspiration when writing the details. You'll fill out a guide submission form which contains suggestions for how many entries (shops, restaurants, clubs, etc) should be in each category (food and wine, retail, activities, etc). We promise, it's easier than it seems and takes less than an hour.

What compensation does haunt offer?
For each guide you complete, a stipend of $50 will be provided for your time and effort. Once uploaded on our site, your guide will be shared (and pushed regularly) on our socials and you will receive a 30% commission from each sale of your guide on a quarterly basis. Depending on how often you share your guide, the potential to make a large commission is totally feasible and is a great way to receive supplemental/passive income.

For Travel Writers:
haunt Stories is our online editorial publication for which we accept submissions of travel-related articles on a rolling basis at .20 cents/word (1000 words max) or a year long subscription allowing full access to all our guides free of charge (a $299 value). Writers may submit up to 3 articles per quarter.
